Fushimi Inari Taisha, 伏見稲荷大社

こちらは小さな鳥居が連なっていた

ところとは変わって、

すごく大きな鳥居がありました。

動画を見ていただくと

わかると思うのですが、

人と比べても

ものすごく大きいです。

ちょっと気になって『鳥居』を調べてみると、

”鳥居は神社の内と外を分ける境に立てられ、

鳥居の内は神様がお鎮まりになる御神域として尊ばれます。”

とありました。

小さな頃から身近なところに

たくさんあったので気にしていませんでしたが

こんな意味があったんですね。

The head shrine of all “Inari” shrines across the country, Fushimi Inari Taisha.

Unlike the area with the small torii gates,

there were very large torii gates here.

If you watch the video, you’ll see

how enormous they are compared to people.

I got curious and looked up “torii” and found that:

“Torii are erected at the boundary between the inside and outside of a shrine, and the area

inside the torii is revered as the sacred area where the deity resides.”

I never really paid attention to it since there were so many around me from a young age,

but I learned that they have this kind of meaning.
