Japanese sea nettle
こちらは名古屋港水族館のアカクラゲです。
アカクラゲはミズクラゲと違って
とっても長い触手がありますね。
水中を漂いながら
触手を優雅に揺らしている。
じっと見ていると
なんか植物を眺めている
感じとちょっと似てる気がします。
ただこの触手。
興味本位で触ると
かなり強めの毒があるので痛い目を見ますので
お気をつけくださいませませ。
ただこういうふうに見ていると
とても綺麗だなぁと思いました。
Japanese Sea Nettle
This is a Japanese sea nettle (Chrysaora pacifica) at the Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium.
Unlike moon jellyfish, the Japanese sea nettle has very long tentacles.
As it drifts through the water, its tentacles sway gracefully.
When you stare at it for a while, it kind of feels like you’re gazing at a plant— there’s something oddly similar about it.
But those tentacles— if you touch them out of curiosity, they pack quite a powerful sting, so do be careful!
Still, when viewed like this, they really are beautiful.
