2024年10月27日、タイのマハー・ワチラロンコン国王の72歳の誕生日を記念し、 チャオプラヤー川で華麗な王室船団行列が開催されました。
今回のは少し久しぶりになりますね。
52隻の船が国王と王妃を載せてバンコクの中心を通り、ワット・アルンでの仏教儀式に向かいました。 この伝統はアユタヤ時代に始まりましたが、現代では特別な機会にのみ行われます。 今回は王女や王子も参加し、伝統的な衣装の漕ぎ手たちが太鼓の音に合わせて揃った動きを披露しました。
昔の方がもう少し開催頻度が高かった気がしますが、
毎年やるわけではないので
見れる時に見ておきましょう。という感じですね。

On October 27, 2024, a magnificent royal barge procession was held on the Chao Phraya River to commemorate the 72nd birthday of King Maha Vajiralongkorn of Thailand.
This event marked a return after some time.
A fleet of 52 boats carried the King and Queen through the heart of Bangkok, heading toward Wat Arun for a Buddhist ceremony.
This tradition dates back to the Ayutthaya period and is now reserved for special occasions.
This time, the Princess and Princes also participated, with oarsmen in traditional attire rowing in unison to the rhythm of drums.
In the past, these processions seemed to be held more frequently,
but as they’re not annual, it’s a “see it when you can” kind of experience.
